From September 22, 2023, to January 28, 2024, Palazzo Roverella will open its doors to host the largest monographic exhibition ever presented in Italy on Tina Modotti, an icon of 20th-century international photography.

Tina Modotti, born in 1896 in Udine, was a multifaceted and fascinating figure with an adventurous and captivating life. Initially an actress, she moved to Hollywood where she pursued a successful career, but her true love was photography. After spending her youth in the United States, she moved to Mexico in 1922, where she played a prominent role in the artistic and political movements of the time.

The exhibition will be a unique opportunity to highlight her exceptional talent, offering the largest selection of her photographs ever exhibited in Italy, depicting her life and work. It will be an exciting journey through her images, ranging from portraits to reportage, from pictures capturing the beauty of nature to those denouncing social injustices.
